ITW Formex offers a variety of functional insulation materials covering flame retardant, thermally conductive, antistatic and multi-layer composite types, widely used in electric vehicles, energy storage, data centers, industrial power supplies and consumer electronics. 

Formex GK Series

The GK series is ITW Formex‘s core product line, featuring single-layer polypropylene flame retardant electrical insulation material. It offers superior dielectric strength, temperature rating and chemical resistance, serving as a physical barrier against electrical hazards. Easy to score and fold, significantly reducing manufacturing, warehousing and shipping costs. UL 94 V-0 flammability rating, moisture absorption <0.06%, temperature rating 115°C, dielectric strength 2,200 volts/mil at 0.005″ thickness. Certified with f1 rating under rigorous UL 746C testing for outdoor use, suitable for LED lighting, energy storage battery systems, IP security cameras, access control systems and more.

Formex GL Series

The GL series is ITW Formex’s newly developed flame retardant polypropylene electrical insulation material. While maintaining the excellent reliability and durability of the GK series, it offers an enhanced temperature rating. UL 94 V-0 flammability rating, temperature rating 125°C. The GL series is an ideal alternative to the GK series when applications require thinner materials with superior temperature tolerance.

Formex GS Series

The GS series is a static dissipative insulation material providing ESD surface protection, replacing the discontinued Statex series. As an electrical barrier, it insulates and protects against electrostatic discharge, safely dissipating static charges. Temperature rating 115°C, suitable for applications requiring electrostatic protection such as battery management systems and onboard chargers.

Formex N3 Series

The N3 series is a halogen-free, flame retardant polycarbonate electrical insulation material. It provides exceptional dielectric insulation at reduced thickness, ideal for device miniaturization and lightweighting requirements. Thickness can be as low as 0.2mm, temperature rating 125°C, easy to score and fold.

Thermally Conductive Insulation Film (TCI)

ITW Formex also offers thermally conductive insulation film with thermal conductivity up to 1W/(m·K), combining efficient heat transfer with reliable dielectric insulation, effectively extending the service life of EV batteries and other electronic devices.
